What does the lyrics sara bareilles-love song means?
Her boyfriend gives her mixed emotions where he says that he loves her, they belong together, etc. but it comes with this empty feeling. She sings that she wouldn't write a love song to him because there's no love to write about, and there's probably this pressure the guy gives to her about making a love song about him because he thinks he deserves one.
Reply:I should add...that she's going beyond the typical love songs where you want someone back, and so the title gives the listener the thought that it's gushy and stuff when it isn't. Kinda like with Beyonce and "Irreplaceable" Report Abuse
Reply:actually, she's been really clear in concerts and interviews that both this track and "bottle it up" were written about her label pressuring her to write more mainstream pop tracks. Report Abuse
